Kim G C Moody Appointed Co-Chair of CBA / CPA Canada Joint Committee on Taxation for CPA Canada
To make a difference in the tax community, one requires a combination of experience, knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to furthering the practice of tax. It just so happens the new co-Chair of the CBA / CPA Canada Joint Committee on Taxation for CPA Canada also enjoys the practice of tax and possesses tax geek charisma and energy. Congratulations to Kim G C Moody FCA, TEP, Director of Canadian Tax Advisory at Moodys Gartner Tax Law LLP.
Through the Joint Committee, the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA) collaborates with the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) to act as a knowledge resource and offer the federal government input on the technical aspects of tax legislation and administration, as well as suggestions to simplify and improve current tax laws. The committee works closely with the Canada Revenue Agency and the Department of Finance.

Kim is a highly sought-out resource for everything tax. He shares his immense knowledge through writing, lecturing, teaching, and being an active leader in the national tax profession. He is a past Chair of the Board of Governors for the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF) and the Society of Trust and Estate Planners (STEP). Some of his notable recognitions include being named Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Alberta, and receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and STEP’s Founders Award for Outstanding Achievement.
